In the irresistibly sexy series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout, two free spirits find their lives changed by a one-night stand…
Some things you just believe in, even if you've never experienced them. For Stephanie, that list includes love. It's out there. Somewhere. Eventually. Meanwhile she's got her job at the mixed martial arts training center and hot flings with gorgeous, temporary guys like Nick. Then a secret brings them closer, opening Steph's eyes to a future she never knew she wanted—until tragedy rips it away.
Nick's self-assured surface shields a past no one needs to know about. His mind-blowing connection with Steph changes all that. As fast as he's knocking down the walls that have kept him commitment-free, she's building them up again, determined to keep the hurt—and Nick—out. But he can't walk away. Not when she's the only one who's ever made him wish for forever . . .
I’m going to be honest for a moment here. At the end of Fall with Me and even in the beginning of Forever with Me – I didn’t remember who Stephanie was. I honestly couldn’t remember who she was and it was pissing me off. I mean, obviously she’s someone from previous books but yep, her name wasn’t ringing any bells. Clearly, who she was came back to me and then I groaned because I didn’t like her. Why was she getting her own story? And truthfully, since this is me being honest, the beginning of the book made me dread reading this even more. I didn’t like Nick’s attitude, if you will and I didn’t like Steph. I remember you, Steph, and I wish you’d go away.
But.
That changed.
I’ve always liked Nick. Since we met him. While he was quiet, I liked that about him. He was a player and while that’s not my thing, I respected that. I knew there was some story behind his antics. But he was a good guy. He showed that time and time again. What I wouldn’t give to see him open up more and, as it turns out, I didn’t have to give much to get my way. We find out so much about Nick, not just him as a person and his personality, but his history, his struggles, his life.
Steph, who we can also call a player, too – while, not my thing, you do you. Many times I saw the writing on the wall. The way she would question things but never come out with them. I wanted to beat my head against a wall but then I realized how much like me that was. Confrontation is my worst nightmare. I can’t judge her because I know, without hesitation, that I would’ve been right there with her. Questioning everything and never, ever bringing up those doubts.
Do you know why I love this book, and not just because I fell in love with both of our lead characters? There was so much of every other character we love. Roxy and Reece, Calla and Jax, Cam and Avery, Teresa and Jase. There were all there. Hell, even Colton and Abby made an appearance. OH MAN, and I can’t forget Katie. Seriously. This girl is EPIC. I can’t say anything negative about her. I just can’t.
This book made me cry (quite a few times) but it also made me laugh more than once. Not to mention the goofy ass grin I had plastered on my face by the end. This is why I read alone, in a room where no one else can see me, I probably look psychotic.
