I'm sure you've all seen how little we've been posting this year versus previous years, right? We actually thought about fully taking a hiatus but then I realized that I couldn't fully quit for awhile. Instead, we scaled our posting back quite a bit. Sana has taken a fully hiatus, as did Ashley. I posted on occasion, especially when I had blog tour obligations but we've got news!
Not only are we ready to come back to blogging but we've brought on two new faces! I'd like to welcome my friends Jean and Kathy to the blog. This is their first time blogging and reviewing but they're excited to try their hand at it. I'm so excited to have more friends join me in this journey and I'm also grateful to have more people willing to help out this page.
That being said, I've still been in a bit of a funk for reading this year. I'm not sure what it is that's causing it, which scares me. I normally read 110+ books a year and this year, I'll be lucky if I hit 50.
I'm hoping to get this blog more active by the end of the year but if we don't, 2016 will be a new year for us. We're have a few weekly post ideas that we're going to give a shot plus having more people on board to review and share their love for reviews. We also plan to bring back write ups for any events we attend, like book signings, conferences or even comic con.
On the negative side, I will be doing less giveaways. I'm really clamping down on my spending as I have things I want to save for and this is one thing I'm doing to help myself do just that. That doesn't mean I won't be doing them; it just means there will be less of them. I used to give away a lot of ARCs with a review - that will rarely happen. Instead, I'll probably be leaning more toward bigger giveaways. Box of books (which is cheaper than sending one book at a time) for US winners. Maybe international giveaways might be a book of choice from book depository every once in awhile. Unfortunately, signed books will most likely be only US because of international fees. Doesn't mean I won't ever do international signed book giveaways but it will be rare.
So, in the coming months, I hope that this blog is a bit more active. 2015 has been a rough year for most of us and I hope you all understand. I'm sorry the blog's been neglected but it takes the back seat to our lives and our jobs. We want to thank the publishers for understanding and still working with us; we want to thank the readers who still visit us and support us - you mean a lot to us. When I started this blog, I didn't have high hopes because I'm not that interesting of a person; I didn't think anyone would care about my opinion.
Thank you. And we'll be seeing more of each other VERY soon!
