Breathe by Abbi Glines
(Sea Breeze, #1)
Release Date: May 16, 2011
Publisher: Wild Child Publishing; 166 pages
This was the first book, in a long time, that hooked me right from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, I still loved all the books that didn't grab me right away, but this book, literally from page 2, I was hooked. I was so drawn to the main character, Sadie, and her struggles within her life.
Sadie seems like the kind of girl we all have known, and she is very relatable, and she is very easy to connect to right away in this story, so I think that is what draws people into this book more. Of course, Jax, the rock star, doesn't hurt things at all. Jax is how we all could hope that teenage rock stars would be if we ever got to meet them on a personal level. This story is almost every girls fantasy of falling in love with a rock star. We've all been there, some more then others (including myself, hehe), and what Abbi has done with this book, is she has made it something that we all can live out in our minds as we read it. We can all put ourselves in this book. I was truly in love with this story. The struggles that Sadie has with her family, her friends and of course Jax and the love and friendships she finds along the way is just an awesome experience to read.
I can not wait to read more of Abbi's books, she is an amazing author and she has so many good things coming to her. I can not wait to read more!!! I am currently reading her newest book, The Vincent Boys, and am loving this author! She is amazing, please check her out!

Sadie White's summer job isn't going to be on the beach life-guarding or working at rental booths like most kids her age. With her single mother's increasing pregnancy and refusal to work, Sadie has to take over her mother's job as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy summer families on a nearby island.
When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie hadn't spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house she might have been normal enough to be excited about working for a rock star.
Even though Sadie isn't impressed by Jax's fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax but he fights his attraction. Relationship's never work in his world and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. By the end of the summer, Jax discovers he can't breathe without Sadie.
But can their love overcome the disparity in their lifestyles? Or will they have to learn how to without each other breathe again?
