Beautiful Demons by Sarra Cannon
(Peachville High Demons, #1)
Release Date: October 29, 2010
Publisher: Dead River Books; 94 pages
When I started reading this book, I knew that is was a paranormal book, but I wasn't exactly sure what type of paranormal, so that kept me wanting to read more. The main character, Harper, is very relatable. Not so much for the fact that she is a child in the foster care system, but of wanting to belong. Everyone wants to belong. So that makes you feel for her and want to see how her life ends up working out.
Harper's back story gives you a little insight to what paranormal aspect this book has, and everything that happens once she moves to Shadowford really makes you not want to put this book down. Shadowford itself is very mysterious and makes you wonder what really happens in that house. The further you get into this book, the more you are able to figure out what paranormal aspect this book has, and it gives great insight into the next few books.
This book had unexpected twist and turns and I fully enjoyed the ride. I love the last line of the book, I will not spoil it, but it gave a nice ending to this book, and a little curiosity to the next book, which I CANNOT wait to read!!
