Blog Tour: Lies I Told by @MichelleZink {Top 10 & Giveaway}

Lies I Told by Michelle Zink
Release Date: April 7, 2015
Publisher: Harper Teen ; 352 pages
What if, after spending a lifetime deceiving everyone around you, you discovered the biggest lies were the ones you've told yourself?

Grace Fontaine has everything: beauty, money, confidence, and the perfect family.

But it’s all a lie.

Grace has been adopted into a family of thieves who con affluent people out of money, jewelry, art, and anything else of value. Grace has never had any difficulty pulling off a job, but when things start to go wrong on the Fontaines' biggest heist yet, Grace finds herself breaking more and more of the rules designed to keep her from getting caught...including the most important one of all: never fall for your mark.

Perfect for fans of Ally Carter, Cecily von Ziegesar, and Gail Carriger, this thrilling, high-stakes novel deftly explores the roles of identity and loyalty while offering a window into the world of the rich and fabulous.

I decided to go with a guest post for this tour & while I always struggle to come up with guest posts, especially ones related to the book I'm promoting, I thought it'd be interesting to do a 10 random places type post. I asked the author,  Michelle Zink, about 10 of either her favorite places her character, Grace, goes or maybe 10 of the most significant locations in the book. I am not disappointed with what I've seen!

Ten Key Spots for Grace in Lies I Told

10. Playa Hermosa High School

This is where the Playa Hermosa job begins and where Grace meets the people who change the way she sees her life - and more importantly, the way she sees herself.

9. Malibu

Grace and her new friends attend a party here. The first time Grace realizes she’s not the only one who finds Rachel Mercer to be a pain-in-the-@%$#. (NOTE FROM AUTHOR: BLOGGER MAY REMOVE SYMBOLS IN FAVOR OF THE WORD “BUTT” OR “ASS” IF SHE FEELS EITHER WORD IS A BETTER FIT FOR HER READERSHIP)

8. Rachel Mercer’s House

Grace suspects almost from the beginning that Rachel doesn’t trust her, but she isn’t sure she’s in trouble until the pair study at Rachel’s house to work on a joint project

7. The Galleria

For the first time in her life, Grace feels like she has a real friend. They seal the deal with shopping, sushi, and life talk at the local mall.

6. Mike’s

The diner where Logan -- and eventually Grace -- hangs out with his friends at their favorite back table.

5. Camino Jardin

Yet another house in a long line of houses for Grace, and the place where the plotting and planning of the Fairchild con occurs.

4. The Cliffs

Midway through the Fairchild con, Grace and Parker have a heart to heart here. Later, Grace will look back and wish she had made a different decision during this conversation.

3. Logan’s House

Grace doesn’t expect the Fairchild’s -- one of the wealthiest families in the country -- to be so down-to-earth. She also doesn’t expect to feel as at home here as she does.

2. Santa Monica Pier

Grace and Logan’s first official date. This night remains a touchstone for Grace as events unfold, and she often returns to the feeling of rising into the night sky with Logan in the ferris wheel.

1. The Cove

A hotspot for the teenagers of Playa Hermosa, the Cove will call to Grace long after the Fairchild con ends. It’s the place she and Logan first start to fall in love, the place where she begins to feel she belongs, and place where Selena gives her a gift that seals their friendship.

  1. OMG, Santa Monica Pier is so beautiful at night. It's definitely my favourite out of all the locations mostly because I've always wanted to go on a ferris wheel!
