I have to admit I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one. I got frustrated a lot with the first book, with how Ryley struggled so much with a decision. To me, the answer as to who to choose has been easy. Not because I like Evan more than I did Nate, in the first book, but because this is the man who is your soulmate. You're getting a second chance of your happily ever after with him, why would you even consider another choice? Why? I never understood the hesitation and I guess that frustrated me because it was there for the entire book.

It's there for this book, too but a choice is finally made and I think I enjoyed it more because it was told from Nate and Evan's points of views. I like Ryley but maybe that was the problem I had with the first book? I don't know but this one was good. It wasn't all about who she had to choose - it was also about trying to find out what happened to Evan and his team and why they were gone for six years when they should've been back in less than a month. None of these poor guys would be in this situation had it not been for whatever is currently being covered up. Things heat up in this book as lives are threatened, people try to kill innocent people all in order to stop Evan & Nate from uncovering the truth.

It's a scary situation. You never want to see your loved ones in a position where they could be killed all over something you're not really sure of. All you know is that something is going on and something is trying to be covered up but you don't know what. You also don't know who you can trust because the more things that uncover themselves, the more you start to realize someone you know and trusted is involved. That's scary.

We find out more about Nate in this book and for that, I'm glad. All of book one was hearing from either Ryley about him or from Evan. And if it came from Evan, it was all out of anger, we didn't know a whole lot about him now but all about him from before Evan "died". Now we get to know more about the Nate we see today and I really liked that. Though, I'm still partial to Evan but I now like and respect Nate, which I couldn't say in the first book.

Were there times in this book where the frustration came back? Absolutely. But I think it was handled better and the fact that we had more of the military storyline thrown in, it took away from that. While choosing a person was a big part of this book, so was trying to uncover this cover up. That grabbed my attention and I can't say it was surprising the end result but it still hurt. How could anyone ruin these four guys lives for such a selfish, disgusting reason?
