I am super stoked to have this particular author featured here for the Author Spotlight this month. It's a great month to have her, too, as she has a book releasing later this month. What book you ask? Stone Cold Touch, which will hit stores on October 21. You've probably guessed the author, right? None other than Jennifer L. Armentrout or if you read her New Adult or Adult stuff, you might know her by J. Lynn. Her completed Young Adult books include the Lux Series (published with Entangled Teen), The Convenant Series (published with Spencer Hill Press), Don't Look Back (published with Disney), Cursed (published with Spencer Hill Press). She also has The Dark Elements Series (published with Harlequin Teen), Wait for You Series (published with William Morrow), the Titan Series (published with Spencer Hill Press), Frigid Series (published with Spencer Hill Press), Gamble Brothers (published with Entangled Brazen), The Wicked Saga (self published this December) and Obsession, which is an adult spin-off with Lux Series (published with Entangled Covet). Did you get that all? Want to look at the books more in detail, go here to visit her goodreads page, which lists them all!
# 1 New York Times and International Bestselling author Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. When she’s not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russell, Loki.
Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories….which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. She is published with Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion and Harlequin Teen. Her book Obsidian has been optioned for a major motion picture and her Covenant Series has been optioned for TV. Her young adult romantic suspense novel DON’T LOOK BACK was a 2014 nominated Best in Young Adult Fiction by YALSA.
She also writes Adult and New Adult contemporary and paranormal romance under the name J. Lynn. She is published by Entangled Brazen and HarperCollins.
You’ve done both traditional publishing and self publishing, for any aspiring author out there, what are some disadvantages and advantages to both forms of publishing?
I’ve had good experiences with both traditional and self-publishing. But there are advantages and disadvantages to both types of publishing. I think that working with a publisher can be great because a publisher is going to have a lot of resources available to an author. The publisher is going to get behind your book and help with everything from editing to promotion. This can be a little harder with self-publishing. But, that being said, you can definitely get your book out there when you self-publish even without a publisher backing your book. You also have control of all aspects of the book including editing, covers, and promotion. I think it really depends on the book to determine which method will work.
If any two characters from any books you’ve written could be BFF’s and cause havoc on the world together, who would they be and what kind of trouble would you see them getting in to?
I’d like to see what kind of trouble Daemon and Roth could get into together. I think those two would meet their match in each other.
I know you probably get asked all the time what the craziest thing a fan has ever done or said, but what about the nicest thing someone’s done for you or the most touching thing someone’s said to you?
Hmmm…I think the craziest thing readers ask me is if they can touch my hair. I’m not sure why everyone always wants to touch it, but I usually let them.
If you could go on a tour to five cities with four other authors, where would you go and who would you take with you?
Sarah Maas, Wendy Higgins, JR Ward, Jay Crownover and Cora Carmack (sorry, had to pick five). L.A., New York City, New Orleans, Savannah, and Austin
If you could co-write a book with any author, who would it be and what do you think you’d write about?
I’d co-write a book with JR Ward and I’d write about whatever she wanted to write about.

I realized it's too hard for ME to try and decide which of Jen's books I'm going to give away so I'm giving the winner the option to choose THREE books they'd like to win - all personalized by the author. The only stipulation is I'm not sure when I'm seeing Jen again. The next definite time is in February so the winner could have to wait until March to get these books sent out. But by waiting, you not only get them signed, but you get them personalized to you. And, if by chance, I do see her before then, you'll get your books even sooner!
This giveaway is open internationally, so everyone may enter! It ends at 11:59 PM EST on October 14, 2014. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.
