At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she'd left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.

Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn’t give them her mom.

So, this may come as a shock to most of you but this just may very well be my favorite Jen Armentrout book to date. I'm not even kidding you. Which is crazy because I've loved just about every book of her's that I've read but this book...THIS BOOK! I would give this book more than five stars, if I could but since I can't, it's getting the best rating it can because it deserves that and more.

Everyone I know is in love with Cam and for good reason, he's a great guy, incredibly good looking and really, just everything you'd want in your dream man but he just didn't do it for me. Sure, I loved him and loved his book but I wasn't on board with this obsession over him. Then we meet Jase and we definitely started getting somewhere because I LOVED him, almost to the point of where if he were real, I might become stalker-ish. But then I meet Jax in this book and it's all thrown out the window. This is the man I need to find for me because HE is what I want to have by my side until the day I die. This guy is seriously one of the best guys I've ever read in any genre, whether it's YA, Adult or New Adult. This is the man. He is loyal, to the fullest extent. He is fiercely protective of those he cares about. He is incredibly intelligent and clear-headed. He has scars from his past, both physically and emotionally and most importantly, y'all, he is damn fine; which is totally the icing on the very delicious cake.

But he's not the reason this book is so amazing; sure, he's a big part of it but the other reason is because of Calla. This is a girl I want to go hang out with and she's probably even one I'd have a beer with. I hate beer but neither of us would finish ours so it's all good. Maybe we can sit down, have a soda and some of those fries covered in old bay and call it a day? Regardless, I want her as my BFF and I want the man she's lusting after as mine - sadly, I don't think that would work out well for me. She is trying to bury a life she had before going to school but when that life is suddenly thrust into her now she has no choice but to turn around and face it. With what she's gone through, currently going through and will go through throughout the book, hats off to her for not losing her shit and for also not changing. She's awkward, which is totally relate-able, for me. She's scarred, both physically and emotionally, as well though hers are a bit more prominent as she has a huge scar on her face. For what she's gone through in her childhood and still is able to succeed in so many ways with such a great head on her shoulders, it's amazing to me and makes me totally want her having my back.

The fact that she calls Cam, Jase and company the Hot Guy Brigade cracks me up to no end. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this and how much I am going to use this in reference to these books. It should be called the Hot Guy Brigade series, not the Wait for You series...just saying. The secondary characters in this book absolutely make up a huge part of it's awesomeness, too. And I'm not talking about Cam, Avery, Teresa and Jase but all the new ones we meet through Calla and her summer away from school. Katie is a freaking hoot - every time she came walking through those doors I got a big ass goofy grin on my face because I knew it was going to be a hoot. Nick, whose a bit mysterious, has my attention and has me intrigued; would love to get to know more about him . . . if you know what I mean . . . Roxy was someone I immediately liked and knew she'd play a bit part in Calla's time home but then there's Reece. There's nothing more to say about him (I am hoping for Roxy's book next but we'll see).

While there's a ton of romance in this book, it's not necessarily the main focus. Calla's gotten herself in deep with some very dangerous people and it's not even her fault, really. Her main focus is staying alive and finding her mother to figure out not only the issues she came home for but the ongoing issues that have now made Calla watch her back. However, it's also about living. It's about getting out there, doing things you may not have done before and just enjoying the time you have. The amount of things Calla's talked about never doing is just mind blowing. The amount of first's she has, just during this book, is incredible because while it seems so small to us readers, it's huge for this character.

You don't have to read the other books in the Wait for You series to enjoy this one but I do suggest reading them first to get the full effect. It's a definite must read for New Adult contemporary fans or even those who are just starting out with NA - read these books, especially this one. You'll thank me later.

Thank you so much to HaperCollins/William Morrow for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much to KP over at InkSlinger PR for allowing me to take part in this blog tour.
