I love Fae (Fey - however you want to spell it) books - I just can't get enough of them. And when it was highly recommended by my friend, I pushed this up on my TBR pile. Then I got put on the blog tour and had to think up interview questions so I pushed it up even further so I could have some book related questions to ask. I am so glad I pushed this book up; it was so much fun to read and such an adventure!

I'm going to start off with the love interest, Prince Richard. Almost any book I read that has a Prince as the love interest, I don't like him (and if there's a love triangle it is always the other guy). I was afraid this would be the case especially since this book doesn't have a love triangle (so refreshing!) but oh my goodness, this was not the case. Prince Richard is everything and more - plus, he's British so I was imagining that sexy accent as reading the book. Don't tell me you don't do that when you read a book with a main character from somewhere with a yummy accent. He's a bit of a mess when we first meet him; he's only interested in going out with his friends and drinking and flirting with pretty women. He's your typical 17 year old male except he's got the media's eyes on him because of him being the next to the throne. But he has a lot of things that happen to him that forces him to grow up and he really does.

Emrys is just awesome. She different from any other guard but she's also one of the strongest that there's ever been, especially with her being as young as she is. She's got a fire in her that really shows through her personality. It's kind of crazy; while reading this book, Emrys feels so real. Almost like it's not fiction we're reading, but we're just looking in on a few people's lives. Sure, it's rather different than our everyday life but it's fascinating.

I've been struggling with this review for well over a month. I enjoyed this book so, so, so much but when I sat down to put my feelings in to words, they just won't come. I've never had it happened this bad before. Literally, almost two months after finishing this book, I still can't put my feels in to words. I just know that I was really surprised by how much I liked this book and how much I'd want to read it again. It was different, it was fun, it was full of action, it had romance that made you swoon - it seriously had everything a book needed and more.

Go be surprised and pick this book up. You'll enjoy it, I'm certain you will! The only downside is it's a standalone. Scratch that. Just found out there will be a companion novel out. Not sure who it'll be based around or what it's about but you've got my attention!
