Top 10 of 2013: Book Boyfriends

This tour of fun is co-hosted by Fiktshun, A Life Bound by Books, Confessioins of a Bookaholic, Two Chicks on Books, & Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

First off, I hope everyone (who celebrates) had a fantastic Christmas. I hope you all got to spent time with you family and those you love while enjoying some fantastic food!

So I guess I should have looked ahead to today's topic for yesterday's post - but I fail. Today I will discuss my top 10 book boyfriends. And this excites me because I get to include my main squeeze, which we haven't seen featured in any of my top 10 lists thus far.

Puck from The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa

So I admit, Puck is a very minor character in this book but he was a major part of the first series and I'm so in love with him that including him was a must. He was a part of this book so it counts and he's my all-time best boyfriend.

Chaol from Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Chaol is definitely in my top 5 book boyfriends - it's just so hard when there's so many dreamy guys and such little time!

Death from Endless Knight by Kresley Cole

I like Jack, don't get me wrong, but we got to know Death in this book and he made me swoon. Like, hardcover swoon and it's been awhile since a character has swayed me away from one love interest to the other (the last one to do that was Christian in the Unearthly trilogy). I normally don't like the 'bad boy' characters, either, but he's just completely undone me.

Hector from The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson

Hector is probably on every person's list right now and with good reason. I've been in love with him from the beginning and I was twitching to get my hands on this book so I could crave my addiction.

Seth from Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Again, I'm in the minority here and don't get me wrong, I love Aidan but I have been in love with Seth since he was introduced. He may have a disappointed me a few times but that doesn't matter. What was in his heart was pure and I can't wait for his series. 2015 cannot come soon enough.

Finn from Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood

Finn is such a gentleman. This is the type of guy I want by my side. He is everything I would want and more. Cate has no idea how lucky she truly is.

Jem from Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Jem is my number 2 book boyfriend. He's been challenging Puck for the number 1 spot for some time but he just can't. But I see Jem behind Puck's back - I figured Jem is pretty used to be the other guy anyway, right? (I'm kidding - sort of . . .)

Beast from Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers

I think I just have a crush on everyone in these books. The characters are fabulous and the story is even better. Beast totally struck a chord with me, though. He's stuck with me and he's not going anywhere.

Montgomery from The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd

Again, this was the first book I read this year and I'm still in love with this guy. I am so excited to read the next book just so I can get more of him.

Cole from Everbound by Brodi Ashton

I had Cole for the YA Crush Tournament (I know, he was up against Four so he didn't stand a chance, poor guy) and for good reason. I love him. He's another bad boy that has appealed to me. While I like Jack (especially after having finished the trilogy) but Cole is really on my radar. He's so not the type of guy I'd like and I think that's what attracted me, which makes no sense, I know . . .

We are starting to see a pattern of 2013, right?! ;-)

Ooo, who doesn't like Cole?! He is definitely one of those guys that makes you want to take a walk on the dark side! Great list!

  2. Love so many of these! Puck is amazing. And of course Seth and Jem <3 I still need to read a few of these series but I can't wait because everyone's featuring them!

  3. DEATH! I haven't read Endless Knight, but I've heard alllll about Death. From what I read in Poison Princess, I cannot wait to dive into Endless Knight. I left my copy in school though. Later! And Hector is on my list as well! I cannot get over how perfect Elisa and Hector are for each other. Love! :D

    Happy holidays!

YAY I love you! Another Puck, Seth, and Jem fan! They are my favorite! I prefer Prince Dorian over Chaol though. Hector and Cole are very popular. I need to read those series.

  6. I like Aiden, don't get me wrong, he's a great guy but he's not who made me swoon. His brother actually made me swoon more than he did (sad, I know lol). I like Edward but Montgomery has my heart - I haven't read Her Dark Curiosity yet but it's a few books away and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

  7. Really?! Cole is a popular guy to like? Many Everneath fans I've talked to don't care for him; they're totally on team Jack (which is cool cause I like him, too). But Cole has my heart. In a twisted way.

  8. YAY!!! I will hug anyone who is a Puck fan. He is my true love in the book world. And everyone seems to be Team Aiden so YAY!!! We have fantastic taste, if I do say so myself.

While I can respect your love for Dorian because he is a great guy and a great character I just feel like Chaol brings out the best in her. And he makes me want to be her just to have him lol.

YOU DO NEED TO READ THOSE! OMG - if anything, put down what you're reading and go read Rae Carson's books - seriously. You'll be thanking me. :-P

I'm not the typical fan. I like twisted and dark. I am actually friends with quite a few Cole fans. But I do love Jack. Can't I have them both?! Cole grows on you. Yea he is a dick but he is sweet at the same time. Love it!

  10. Oh, Cole had my heart from the beginning and I'm not one that usually likes characters like him so he took me by surprise. I actually found Jack to be quite a bore through the first book and I guess the second (what little there was of him). I like him in the final book though.
