Tod Hudson was a typical teenager. He liked girls, sports, food and tolerated his younger brother, Nash. In fact, he had his whole life in front of him--and due to his bean sidhe heritage, it was going to be a very long life indeed. And then the car accident occurred.

Suddenly Tod's future wasn't so sure, and he had to make a choice. Life... Death... or something Between....

An ebook exclusive Soul Screamers series novella.

Warning there will be spoilers for My Soul to Take in this review.  Please proceed with caution if you do not want to be spoiled.

I love novellas.  It's a chance for the author to write either an optional side story about the the main character of the series that usually takes place before or after the events of the books.  Or sometimes it's a story in a side character's point of view.  In the case of Reaper, the readers are treated with a short story about Tod.  Tod is Kaylee's boyfriend's brother who is a reaper.

Now I must admit at the end of the My Soul to Take I was surprised to find out that Nash and Tod are brothers.  There weren't too many hints leading up to the reveal.  But finding out that Nash and Tod are brothers made me smile, and it explained their banter.  I have said in previous reviews that Tod is a favorite character of mine in the series.  And this novella only made me love him even more.  The sacrifices that Tod makes for Nash are just so touching.  It makes me wonder what I would do if I were in his situation.

This novella is a perfect glimpse into Tod's life.  But unfortunately as with most novellas it just made me want more.  I would love to read a spin off of Tod's afterlife.  He's just such an interesting character, that it's hard not to love him.
