This is the trio of awesome. Puck, ice-boy and Meghan. They will never get old together, ever. I could read adventures with the three of them together forever and ever with never getting bored. I may be a Puck fan but I do love all three of them and the relationship between Puck and Ash is just totally entertaining. THAT is a true friendship right there. Of course Puck loves Meghan but he's obviously man enough to know letting go of those hopes and letting her be happy with Ash is what truly makes her happy. If you love someone, that's the one thing you want for them over anything else. Their happiness. It's quite apparent in this short novella how happy she is with Ash.
That being said, we're taken on another adventure that ties in nicely to The Lost Prince. I have to say, I'm glad I read The Lost Prince before reading this. Actually, I'm glad I never read this description before reading the Lost Prince. It made Kiernan's appearance that much more exciting. I had a feeling he'd be real but seeing it in writing was just...amazing. But this was a cute, short story with Meghan and Ash finding out she was pregnant but also finding out the dreadful news that their child could be the end of them all. No person, young or old, want to hear that of their own kin, so obviously it was troublesome news.
If you're a die hard fan, like myself, I definitely recommend reading this. Do what I did, go out and buy Iron Legends - you get all three novellas in one book. Totally worth it. If you have NOT read any of The Iron Fey books, first - what is wrong with you? Secondly, make sure you start from the beginning. You won't regret it.
