I'd have to say Caszandra Devlin from the Touchstone Trilogy by Andrea K. Host! She gets stranded on an alien planet and has to learn to adapt to their culture and language. I'm always amazed at how brave she is!

I definitely say Clary. Not only does she have to fight evil, but she has to deal with the fact that she's in love with her brother. This is such a great giveaway, thank you !

She later finds out her whole life's been a lie and she's apart of a distincted race of warriors. There's a phrophecy she must fulfill at the same time fend for her little sister. There's a whole new world full of monsters she has to discover while struggling to mantain the creature within.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that my favorite kick-ass heroine definitely is and will forever be Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter series. Her characer development is much more than any other female character I've come across in literature, which probably has to do with the fact that there are seven books. But I love how she gets to be that strong woman her two friends couldn't survive without.

Todd and Viola from Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness are awesome, butt0kicking characters. They both have their values and can clearly see what is wrong and what is right. And despite their young age (they are 13!) they are crucial characters when it comes to an upcoming war! Totally crazy and... amazing.

ReplyDeleteIt's not exactly YA, but it's super close: Percy Jackson from both the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series'. I mean, he's literally kicking monster booty on a day-to-day basis.
ReplyDeleteFinley Jayne is one of my favorites. I've really been enjoying steampunk novels and Finley is about as kick-butt as they come!
ReplyDeleteThe most kick butt character in YA? Percy Jackson! Why? He can fight like a demon (quoted from Frank), he can control water (and breathe underwater), he can talk to sea creatures and horses, he stands up to gods even though they could kill him in a heartbeat for it, and he's defeated every enemy that's come his way, big or small (including the Titan Kronos). What's not totally awesome and kick butt about him??

I've only read one of the four prequel novellas (The Assassin and the Pirate Lord) that was released but she is my favorite badass heroine. She's only 16 but she's a very good assassin. She's stubborn and impulsive, yes, but she always does what's right.

I still love Alanna from Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness quartet! I first read the books in middle school and still love them many years later! Alanna overcomes lots of hurdles to become stronger and faster than the boys while training to be a knight
