Book Review: Clarity by Kim Harrington

Clarity by Kim Harrington
(Clarity, #1)
Release Date: March 1, 2011
Publisher: Scholastic; 246 pages

When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth?

This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.
Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift.
And a curse.

When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case - but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother - who has supernatural gifts of his own - becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

Another book that a friend recommended me to read. One I am so glad I read and one where I can't wait to dive in to the second book, PERCEPTION!

I love mystery type books. Ones where as you're reading, getting to know the characters you're also trying to figure out how it ends. Who is the murderer...why they murdered the victim, etc. It makes it harder to put the book down when you're that involved in the case yourself.

It's hard for me to put this book in to words. The characters were so likable, especially the main ones like Clare, Perry (her older, womanizing brother), Justin (her ex-boyfriend) and Gabriel (the new hottie in town whom she's crushing on). Getting to know them while figuring out a murder made for one hell of a story.

It wasn't too hard to figure out the who but figuring out the why, well I didn't see that coming. If you're interested in reading mystery novels with a touch of paranormal, this is your book. Not to mention if you love such likable, real characters, this is something you'll want to pick up. I know I'm eager to read the next book. Get to know more of the characters I love even better than we already do, especially after everything they've gone through in CLARITY!
