"Waiting on Wednesday" is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where we highlight one book that we're eagerly anticipating. Here at our blog, it'll be a book that's to be released in the next three months so we're not shooting too far in to the future (even if we really want to)!
I'm going to be honest, I've read Legend and Prodigy but have yet to read Champion. The reason? I don't want that series to end and to me, it hasn't until I decide it will. But I loved the first two books SO MUCH that I'm SO EXCITED for something new from Marie Lu. Maybe this will allow me the chance to read Champion because I have THIS to look forward to?
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
(The Young Elites, #1)
Release Date: October 7, 2014
Publisher: Putnam Juvenile; 368 pages
I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.
Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.
Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.
Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.
It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.
What are YOU waiting on this week?
Bhahaha! That's the same reason I haven't read Prodigy yet, I'm just not ready for it to be anywhere near over. Need to though, because Lu just brings the feels. HARD. I hope you enjoy her new book when it comes out :) It does look fantastic ;)

I LOOOOOOOOOVVEEEE your blog design. It's awesome! It's just so stylish and that header! AH! My blog is undergoing renovation since I really dislike my current design. Stripes are not for me.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I haven't heard of this book, but I read Legend by Marie Lu. She's a pretty good writer. I didn't read the other two in that trilogy, even though I bought them. I was in just one of those moods, you know?
I see you have excellent tastes in books, based off of your count-downs. I also have excellent tats in books. I shall follow you. I mean, on social media. Not like a stalker.
There I go again, babbling on :) so I hope you enjoy reading this book when it comes out.

This would sound very ordinary if Adelina hadn't that blackness in her heart. With it, this read sounds awesome. Going on my tbr, thanks!
