The sequel to the action-packed Reboot is a can't-miss thrill ride, perfect for fans of James Patterson, Veronica Roth, and Marie Lu.If you have NOT read Reboot, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .
After coming back from death as Reboots and being trained by HARC as soldiers, Wren and Callum have finally escaped north, where they hope to find a life of freedom. But when they arrive at the Reboot Reservation, it isn't what they expected. Under the rule of a bloodthirsty leader, Micah, the Reboots are about to wage an all-out war on the humans. Although Wren's instincts are telling her to set off into the wilderness on their own and leave the battle far behind, Callum is unwilling to let his human family be murdered. When Micah commits the ultimate betrayal, the choice is made for them. But Micah has also made a fatal mistake . . . he's underestimated Wren and Callum.
The explosive finale to the Reboot duology is full of riveting action and steamy love scenes as Wren and Callum become rebels against their own kind.
Why couldn't Reboot have been in dual POV's? I didn't think I was missing out until I started Rebel and freaking LOVED reading from Callum's POV. In fact, I loved it so much that I had to stop about 9% from the end because I didn't want any of it to end. I am still upset it ended. Reboot was one of those surprise hits for me last year. I thought I'd like it, sure, or I wouldn't have gotten it but I didn't realize how freaking much I would love it.
You know, I loved Reboot so I was afraid to read this for two reasons. One, because I didn't want it to end. I loved these characters, this world and this story just too damn much for it to end. Two, because Reboot took me by surprise that I was terrified of being disappointed with Rebel. I have so much love for Reboot that I just didn't think Rebel would live up to that kind of admiration. It did, though and so much more. I want to hug the book. Hell, I want to hug them both - group hug!
Micah, he's a new
I am a BIG fan of Wren and Callum together. Like BIG. They are so cute together and they, though have similarities, are very different. Especially with the way they look at situations. Them coming together and compromising for each other is probably the most amazing thing ever. THEY are one of the main reasons I don't want these books to end. I LOVE THEM.
I finished this book two weeks ago and I just have been having the hardest time writing this review. There's so much I want to say but so much I can't say for spoiler reasons. There's just so much love for this book that the words just don't come.
Thank you so much to HarperCollins for allowing me the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Omg wow! 5 STARS?! You know what, I'm going to read this next. Screw all the other books. I'm too excited! Lovely review Jess!
ReplyDeleteYES!! You giving it 5 stars makes me want to get down to read it properly even more!! I've just started it and I'm at 10% only but I need to go back to my review pile, so I'll hopefully go back to it sooner than later! And I agree, I've just met Micah and I don't like him AT ALL!
ReplyDeleteGreat review and thanks for keeping it spoiler free!
Yes, 5 big, fat, beautiful stars. Have other people been all negative toward this book? I don't know, I've stayed away from reviews because I didn't want even an ounce of spoilage lol. I'm so sad it's only a duology :(
ReplyDeleteMicah is one Reboot I wish was never rebooted. Ugh. I hope you are able to get back to it and I really hope you end up loving it. The only thing I didn't like was that it ended lol!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always try *really* hard to keep mine spoiler free (or at least hide spoilers). :)
No no, I feel like everyone is loving it. Every time I click on a review, I expect to see at least one negative review but it's always a rave! I'm still in the middle of a super boring book but I really do want to pick this one up next.
