Waiting on Wednesday #6

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where we highlight one book that we're eagerly anticipating. Here at our blog, it'll be a book that's to be released in the next three months so we're not shooting too far in to the future (even if we really want to)!

I freaking LOVE these books. It's told from Tristan's point of view and let me tell you, Zoraida does such a great job with a teenage boys voice. It's so realistic it's a little scary. These covers are amazing and the content inside is just as amazing.

The Vast and Brutal Sea by Zoraida Córdova
(The Vicious Deep, #3)
Release Date: July 1, 2014
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire; 416 pages
This epic clash of sand and sea will pit brother against brother-and there can only be one winner.

In two days, the race for the Sea Court throne will be over-but all the rules have changed. The sea witch, Nieve, has kidnapped Layla and is raising an army of mutant sea creatures to overthrow the crown. Kurt, the one person Tristan could depend on in the battle for the Sea King's throne, has betrayed him. Now Kurt wants the throne for himself. Tristan has the Scepter of the Earth, but it's not enough. He'll have to travel to the mysterious, lost Isle of Tears and unleash the magic that first created the king's powerful scepter. It's a brutal race to the finish, and there can only be one winner.

What are YOU waiting on this week?

  3. YES! This is one of those that has a very interesting story (and I'm not really the biggest mermaid/mermen fan) and a fantastic lead character. She (the author) definitely gets inside this teenage boys head and portrays him so well! I work with a bunch of teenagers at work and he would fit right in! I definitely recommend this!

  7. Doh! I really, really need to start reading this series... I have the first book (The Vicious Deep?) but have yet to crack it open. Shame on me! I like that it's told from the male perspective - so hopefully I'll get a chance to remedy that soon!

    Thanks for sharing!
