I was excited to have been asked by Macmillan if I wanted to interview British author, Marcus Sedgwick, when he came to DC's Politics and Prose bookstore for his latest release, She Is Not Invisible. I'll be honest, I hadn't really heard of any of his books but I looked up the descriptions of that book and Midwinterblood and they sounded interesting, so I agreed. I am so glad I did. I read both Midwinterblood and She Is Not Invisible right before having met him and they were very interesting reads.
The interview is about thirty minutes long so I split it up in to two pieces so you can listen to them separately if you'd like. A warning, at times the audio is very quiet and you may have to turn the volume up to hear everything. This interview was done in the bookstore so there was background noise we couldn't avoid but we tried out best. You don't want to miss any of this interview as listening to Marcus talk is just amazing (accents are fabulous to listen to).
I did this interview alongside another Maryland blogger, Stephanie from No BS Book Reviews (check out her site for a full write up of the event and another chance to win signed books) and it was an absolute blast. This was the first time we've actually really talked face to face; I've seen her at one other book event but never said anything to her there (cause I didn't know her). It was fun not only sharing this interview experience with someone but also a pleasure getting to know her some!
Thank you SO MUCH to Ksenia from Macmillan for asking us if we were interested in this interview. Thank you also letting us get the chance to familiarize ourselves with his work beforehand. Because of this, I will definitely be looking at his books in the future.
The books I was sent from Macmillan I got signed and I'm giving them away to TWO lucky winners. One winner will get Midwinterblood (paperback), a poster and bookmark all signed by Marcus. The other winner will get She Is Not Invisible (hardcover) signed by Marcus. I debated about having this giveaway international or not and I've decided I will be willing to send the paperback book international but the hardcover is just too much money. So, if you're international and want to win a signed Midwinterblood, you are more than welcome. This giveaway will end May 12, 2014 at 11:59 PM EST. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!
