If you're here, you're a fan of Julie Kagawa. If you're a fan of Julie's then all I can say is you are in for one hell of a ride. But that shouldn't come as a surprise for most of us. She likes to rip our hearts out, stomp on it a few times and then politely hand it back to us without any regrets. She has NO regrets for breaking us. In fact, she thrives on it and I can accept this because it means we care about her characters and her world she's introduced to us. Besides, she's the person who brought me Puck (and now Jackal) so I could never stay mad at her.

This is one of those books where you tread lightly. You know who the author is (or maybe you don't, in that case, listen to my warning) and you know she truly capable of breaking you in so many ways. I tell you she does exactly that in this book. Guard your heart because it sure to have broken by the time you reach the end.

I've been having a hard time reading final books in series lately because I feel like that's all I'm doing is having these series end on me. I don't think I can take much more of the heartbreak and the fact that I know I can't look forward to more from these characters. I wanted to read this book so badly because I needed to know what happened but at the same time, I was hesitate to have more characters I've grown to love leave me. But I have to say this is probably one of the most amazing endings of any series I've read. So many lately have completely left me shattered but this has ended with much hope and much faith in the world.

My favorite aspect of this book and since he was introduced, really, has been Jackal. Seriously. I'm in love with him. I'm all like 'Zeke who?' while I've read this series, especially in the last book. Who needs that bloodbag when you could have a vampire king?! Julie created my all-time favorite fictional character in her Iron Fey series with Puck and I'm here to tell you that Jackal is absolutely right behind Puck.

I know this review is very vague and I really feel like it has to be in order not to spoil the reader of anything. I was, unfortunately, spoiled with something going in to this book and it changed the reading experience for me. I wouldn't wish that on any of you. All you need to know is that if you've read the other two books, you do NOT want to miss this. If you haven't read the other two books, you have time to get to that before this is released. You won't regret it, I'm sure!
