Blog Tour: Finding My Forever by Heidi McLaughlin

Finding My Forever by Heidi McLaughlin
(Beaumont, #3)
Release Date: December 30, 2013
Everywhere I look, my friends are settling down - marriage, children, white picket fences; but not me. Marriage isn't in the cards for me. I’m a ladies man.

A rock star.

I was born and raised in the industry.
I love everything about my life, especially the attention from the women that my status brings me.

Women find me. I don’t chase. I know what they want and they know I’ll deliver.

But after one look, one touch, one night...

now I’m the one doing the chasing.

I need to find a way to show her that I’m serious, that I can change.

I need to find a way to show her that I can love her fully, and only her.

I need to find a way to show her that she’s my forever.

If you have NOT read Forever My Girl & My Unexpected Forever, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

I have never loved a group of characters as much as I love these characters. I'm serious. I'm totally jealous of the bond they all together. Jimmy, Liam, Harrison, Katelyn, Josie, Jenna and the kids. What they share is something I wish to be a part of. It shows you that family isn't always blood. Every time I think back on this book, that is the one thing that stands out most to me. I am utterly jealous of it all - completely envious. Yet, completely in love with it. With them.

I loved this series from the beginning. From bad boy rocker, Liam Page, rolling in to town and stirring things up to Harrison & Katelyn's emotional journey to find happiness and trust again to the relationship I think most of us have been pinning for since we met these characters. Jenna, one of Josie and Katelyn's best friends and Jimmy, the younger, British playboy in the group. We find out how much more there is to both of them than we ever imagined. Some of it may shock you.

One thing that Heidi does so well is those emotional scenes. We're already invested in these characters; we feel like we know them and they're our friends, too. So, when she does something that just breaks our hearts, the tears start rolling. I can't say Forever My Girl had me crying except in the beginning (which is really amazing since we're just learning about the characters but again, when an author does it right, you don't need to know the characters to care) but then in My Unexpected Forever, oh man, the water works were on full blast during that book, as to be expected. I wasn't expecting emotions in this book so when they came at me, many different times, I was unprepared. I was sobbing for part of the book, wondering how an author could be so cruel to it's readers but so many times, I was on the verge of tears or a few may have escaped. I'm afraid for the next book because she messes with our emotions more and more the longer this series goes on yet . . . I must be a sucker for heartbreak because I want more.

Jenna and Jimmy's story is very unexpected. While many of us suspected these two at the end of book two, there was no confirmation. Their relationship in this book is so out of the norm but yet . . . it works. I wasn't sure how I felt about it because wow, it took me by surprise in the direction it took but as the book went on, I got it.

Something that surprises me are these back stories that come with these books. Sure, we know these characters but then when they get their own books, they surprise you with how little we truly knew. I can't even imagine what kind of curveballs Heidi will come up with in upcoming books but she'll do it.

This book also definitely has the sexy factor in it. Holy wow, it has the sexy factor turned up high. Their vacation is almost like you're on the hot beach with them . . . wanting to take a dip with them just to cool off.

I'm not going to say this is my favorite of the bunch and I'm not going to say it's not. I've given up on choosing a favorite. It's not possible. It's like asking a parent to choose their favorite child. Not going to happen. Or asking an avid reader (like myself), what's my favorite book I read this year. Impossible to answer and just cruel to ask. Therefore, I love this one like I love the other ones. They hold a special place in my heart and it pleases me to see how well Heidi has done for herself and these books.

Thank you so much to Heidi, for thinking of me to be a part of her blog tour (again) - and allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review. <3
