Trust In Me by J. Lynn Review

Trust in Me by J. Lynn
(Wait For You, #1.5)
Release Date: October 22, 2013
Publisher: William Morrow; 352 pages
Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life--literally--he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam's not ready to give up. He can't get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Due to sexual content this book is recommended for readers 17 and older.
This review is probably going to be short because there isn't much more to say than what was said in my Wait For You review. If you didn't realize, Trust in Me is the entire Wait For You book but told from Cam's perspective. Not just a novella but the full length book. I thought I might have been crazy reading these back to back, since it could've been overkill but it wasn't. I will say this, I've read scenes or novellas from the guy's POV and it felt like the same story over again, you know? And I was afraid that's what this would've felt like - and yes, I know it's the same story but it's really not. There's just so much more you get out of it by reading it from his POV. Not only the things that go on in his head (which are fantastic and entertaining, by the way) but from his relationship with his roommate, Ollie, to his best friend, Jase, to his relationship with his family, especially his sister, Teresa. Having those insights made it feel like I wasn't reading the same story over again. It kept it fresh, entertaining and new. You tell me how many authors can pull that off, not only for a short story, but a full story? I bet you're stumped right now and don't worry, I was, too.

It was exciting to see how much Avery effected Cam and how much he was changing without even noticing. Since he met, he hadn't gone to a party and yet he hadn't really missed them in the past. She ran in to him as he was in the process of skipping class and at that moment, she changed his life without even realizing it. It's amazing how things can come in to you life, changing it, when you least expect it.

I don't know about you but I definitely enjoyed Trust in Me more than Wait For You; seeing everything from Cam's perspective was a lot more thrilling than from Avery's. Not taking away from her story because I really loved it but reading from his was a totally different experience. And, let's be honest, Jen knows how to write her men.

Do I recommend reading this directly after reading Wait For You? Maybe not because it is repetitive but like I said, most of the time it felt like I was reading a different story. Maybe it would be best to put a few stories in between so it's a little bit more newer and more refreshing? I was advised to do that after I had already started this book so I would probably recommend it, too. Not necessary but probably better.
