Haven Equals Safety.

The slogan is emblazoned on the minds of every Haven employee. But for Glory, life inside the domed city is anything but safe.

After rescuing her brother, Glory returns to Haven as a double agent to locate and save fellow Deviants. Far from her family and from Burn, Glory faces danger at every turn as she trains to be a Compliance Officer--to track and subdue her own kind--while she works undercover to rescue as many Deviants as she can.

When people she trusts turn against her and a powerful member of Management takes her under her wing, Glory questions everything she believes and can no longer tell her allies from her enemies. A Deviant, a member of the secret police, a double agent--Glory fights to save others, but can she save herself?

If you have NOT read Deviants, please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

Someone please yell at me when I put books off because I really shouldn't. This book came out in June and I've had it since like April or something but yet I just read it now . . . what? Ever do that with second books? I don't know if it's because I'm afraid of being disappointed when I loved the first book as much as I did with Deviants or if because I'm afraid of the terrible cliffhangers most second books in a series have. I put books off and I really wish I hadn't. Compliance is one of those books (minus the killer cliffhanger).

Deviants kind of blew me away; I didn't think I'd love it as much as I did but it was amazing. I needed more after finishing it and I especially needed more of Burn but the way the first book ended I wasn't sure how much more we'd get of him. Oh, we get more of him but we also get more of Cal. Now, I know love triangles are very common in Young Adult books and most cases they're annoying and you usually have a favorite in mind, right? While I freaking love Burn (oh do I love him), I also really like Cal. He's charming, loyal, intelligent and most importantly is he loves Glory. What girl doesn't want a guy like that? Where Burn isn't so charming and more importantly, Burn is dangerous. His deviance isn't under control and it's caused him to kill people who were on his side in the past and who knows if or when that might happen again. While I love the love interests that's the not the main aspect of this book.

Glory has come back to Haven to help rescue Deviants from under the glass and deliver them to the FA (Freedom Army) on the Outside. She's saved so many young lives but she's also training as Comp. Not to mention spying for the head of Compliance to try and find the mole located in the Comp; one that is working with the Deviant terrorists. Ones that have killed innocent people to make a statement but the question is, is it the right kind of statement to be making? Glory doesn't think so and I agree with her. Wanting a change doesn't have to end with the death's of so many innocent people. Target those who have done wrong, who are making the community terrified of your kind. Killing innocent people only proves the Management's point - Deviants are dangerous.

Compliance was more action packed (believe it or not), filled to the brim of drama and many heart aches and in some cases, maybe even a few tears? The characters are fantastic - you'll find yourself becoming more connected to the characters we met in Deviants but you'll also find yourself hating some of the ones we just met. The build up for the next book and the thought of all that's going to come just makes me giddy - I can't wait to read what will happen next.

Go out and get yourself a copy of Deviants, I'm sure you'll like it and then you can move on to this book, Compliance. You'll fall in love with the characters, like I have, the story, the world the author's created and the use of your imagination - let it run wild with this book! Oh, and did I mention the fact that there's not one but TWO gorgeous guys to swoon over? Yeah, there's always that!

Thank you so much to Amazon Children's Publishing for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
