Clear Your Shelf Giveaway Hop

It's that time again, y'all! Time to clear some room off my shelves (or in my case, room off my floor). This fantastic hop is being hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and Bookhounds.

So I'm offering up one huge prize to one lucky US winner. This is the biggest prize I've given...as in the most given away at one time. I'm guessing it'll be around 20, if not more. I am putting a bunch of books in box and shipping it to one person. It will be filled with mainly YA books but a few adult (non-romance) and middle grade books thrown in, as well. There are some ARCs, some final copies - some of which are hardcover.

Want some examples of what you'll see inside? How about Shadow of the Mark by Leigh Fallon? Or If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch? Fathomless by Jackson Pearce? How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer? Beta by Rachel Cohn? The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielson? That's just to name a few but there are some great ones here in and maybe some that you haven't heard of but who knows, it might be the best thing you've ever read!

Unfortunately, because of the pricing of international shipping something like this is out of the question unless the reader would be willing to pay for the shipping. If you are an international reader and are willing to pay shipping cost then feel free to enter. For anyone within the US, this is all for free.

  1. I think the hardest part is the thought of not being to reread that book again. I have a tendency to read a book time and time again. Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. I like to just grab a random book and flip to some page and start reading and once you get rid of a book you can do that any more.

  3. Well, there's a reason why I have those books in the first place...so getting rid of them is illogical. Not that I don't appreciate others giving away their books ^.^ Its very generous of them

  4. The hardest part about clearing off the bookshelf is actually clearing it off? Maybe I'm a book hoarder, but I'm always like "What if one day I feel like flipping through this for inspiration??"

  5. It always happens: as soon as a get rid of a book I always end up wanting to re-read it a few weeks down the line.

  6. I have a ton of books that I haven't read so it is always me thinking will I ever read this and usually I think yes when I know I never will!

  7. One of the hardest things is wanting to keep ALL OF THEM because you think you may eventually re-read them (doubtful) or they hold some kind of sentimental value.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Finding them good homes.

  9. The hardest part for me is not losing any notes, bookmarks, etc. I tend to shove post it's and little markers in books, outlining favorite sections. When I start to clean my bookshelves, they fall out of the books!

  10. Ugh! The hardest part is deciding which books to give up and then having a good way to organize what's left in an efficent way! :D

  11. The hardest part is deciding what to do with the books I decide to give up. Do I donate them? or Do I give it to a friend?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm so attached to my books. Plus I just love to look at my bookshelf and feel a weird sense of pride.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The hardest part is saying goodbye to characters that I shared a great time with. I donate to the library and love the idea they are being shared rather than sitting on my shelf.

  14. The hardest part is worrying if they are going to someone that will read the book and appreciate it. I don't want it to end up destroyed and in the trash. I often gift books to people but I have to know that they share my love for books and will take care of them.

  15. I don't like having to part with my books - I have this bond with them that makes it hard to just walk away from them and give them away. The one's I am most apt to part with are books that I didn't enjoy reading.

  16. I'm so attached to mine it's hard. So the hardest part is answering the will I ever read you again? question for each book. It makes me sad.

  17. Picking and choosing which ones I don't need anymore. It's hard to decide which ones I'll never read again because I think I'll re-read them over and over.

  21. I don't clear my bookshelf since I have such a small collection of books, but I think the hardest part would be making sure they go to a good home.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You mean, besides the fact that I love them all? Just looking at my shelves (and the piles around them) and thinking about weeding is very... daunting.

    ReplyDelete
  23. making sure someone will like them as much as I did!

  29. The hardest part is convincing myself that I won't read them. I have a large collection of unread books, and I will constantly make piles of ones I could get rid of, and those piles shorten as I think I may actually read some of those some day.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The hardest part is parting with the book! Even if it's one I didn't like It's still hard to get rid of it, but I just remind myself that it's going to someone who might love it more than I would!

  31. Getting rid of the book. Even if it wasn't a favorite book, it was still my book. Makes me very sad

    ReplyDelete
  32. The hardest part is well deciding what to get rid of, if its something that I really think someone else will enjoy, I will give it away.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ugh... I am not good about clearing anything, but especially books. I'm such a pack rat because I just feel *bad* about getting rid of things.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think figuring out which ones have to go, is a little tough for me.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The hardest part is organizing what's left! I always come up with some great plan, then a few days later I've grabbed a book to look up something, one that was lent out was returned, a few books have spontaneously come into being under my bed...and it's all a big mess again.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The hardest part for me is knowing that I can't go back to it and skim through it any time I have a question. I like knowing that they are there on my shelves for any time I want to pick them back up. This is probably why I rarely get rid of books lol.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I just feel bad! I get emotionally attached to all of my books. Plus I never know what I might want to read or re-read next.

Sometimes, I have second thoughts after giving a book away. That's the toughest. But it's really nice to have the clean shelves for more books!

  41. It seems like every time I decide to clear my shelves I have a burning need to read the book (either again or for the first time). I don't know why it happens. I've actually re-bought books before. Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I always think that I will read them again, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. The hardest part for me to get rid of books is I'm thinking I will read them again.

    ReplyDelete
  44. For me, the hardest thing is finding ways to get rid of them! I get rid of most of my ARCs, which I can't sell like finished copies. I used to take them to a used bookstore, but then I found out someone would buy them all and sell them on eBay, so I refuse to enable them any further. I don't have the money to give them all away or gift them to friends I know want them.

Most of the time, I'm stuck with them until I get back to the used bookstore (for finished copies), I drop them in random places with a "Take me! I'm free!" sticky note on them (all), or have to let them languish on my shelf (ARCs).

    ReplyDelete
  45. Beyond the obvious? Figuring out what to do with them!

  52. I always think that I will definitely read or at least make use of all the books I have again. I torture myself by thinking "what if I get rid of this and then next week I want to read it and then I won't have it!" :C And...even though I usually don't because I have so many other books to read constantly, I still want to keep all of them (even some of the ones that I didn't love)

  62. Will I really read all the books I have? Will I want to reread any of them?

    ReplyDelete
  63. The hardest part is getting rid of the books I haven't read. I give them away because they don't sound like my type of book, but I wonder if I'm missing out.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think its because I read everything and dive in and well if I give it away I may not be able to grab it back.. or someone won't return it.. I hate giving good books away.. but if I get doubles then I share.

  65. Trying to decide what stays and goes and how I want to organize the shelves now either alphabetically, genre or by color...I tend to be a little OCD with the organization of my shelves.
