It's over. Why oh why is 2013 the year for series to end? I swear, it's like so many of my favorite series are going to be over this year. It's sad. I know, I know...all good things must come to an end but it still makes me sad.
Alas, it's been an amazing journey and I'm so grateful to the friend of mine who introduced me to this series. It's amazing. In Unearthly, I was absolutely and utterly in love with Tucker. During Hallowed I started to become more split on he and Christian but now, after Boundless, I'm completely in love with Christian. I do still love Tucker, absolutely but for my personal choice, it's Christian all the way. I usually find myself falling for the character who is certainly considered the underdog. I'm not sure what that says about me, exactly but I always do it.
For all you Tucker die hards, I know you're probably dreading Boundless because Clara is going to Standford with Christian and Angela while leaving Tucker behind in Wyoming, broken hearted. Fear not, my friends, she pops up unexpectedly many times in his barn and you also get glimpses of him in memories.
Remember when I told you that you should read Radiant before reading Boundless, that it wasn't just some filler to hold you over until this book was released? Well, I wasn't lying. You really should read it. It plays a big part in to one of the big storylines. Sure, you get the information in Boundless just not as detailed or exciting as reading the full novella. So do it, you won't regret it (just read it before Boundless, please). Angela goes through so much in this book. There are points in this book where I wanted to shake her because she frustrated me but that was soon eliminated when you saw how much pain she was really in.
Christian and Clara become closer and even go on an official date with one another. I won't tell you the outcome of that date but it was certainly interesting, to say the least. You see Clara & Christian working together and even working together with her father, Michael. It's an awesome see thing to envision.
All the adventures we take with these characters and all the places we get to see are just...well, exciting. We appreciate character we might have once wished ceased to exist, fear characters that are the enemy and just...love the ones we've loved from the beginning.
*highlight to view spoiler* Now, my biggest upset was the ending. Not so much that she ended up with Tucker, I expected that but how she kind of just wrote off Christian and how he seemed so miserable, even after those nine years in the epilogue. The fact that he couldn't come back to enjoy everyone's company because of his hurt ego or whatever, was just upsetting and not very Christian like, I thought. It's been nine years and sure, he loved Clara, that was obvious but you can't tell me he hasn't accepted things and moved on? It just made my heart to think Christian was this way. However, I am happy he's spending time with Angela and Web and they're like a happy family (though not in the way you're probably thinking). I'm happy Clara is happy and married to the man she's loved since she moved there. It's destiny and I am happy for most every character in this book. *end spoiler*
If you've read this series, you'll really enjoy the ending of an amazing, emotional adventure. We've grown attached to all these characters and letting them go is the hardest part. But one thing is for sure, you should be very proud of them and how much they've each grown, in their own way. This is definitely a series I would recommend to just about anyone. Very enjoyable and these characters stay with you long after you've finished reading.
