Glitch by Heather Anastasiu Release Party

FINALLY! I have popped my author cherry! lol I met my first author
tonight! The lovely Heather Anastasiu author of Glitch. The release party took place at The Red Balloon Bookshop on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. It is the cutest little book store. Doesn't hold a lot of people, but I prefer more intimate settings.

In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.

When Zoe starts to malfunction (or “glitch”), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.

As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.

In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.

The event started with some fun trivia and Heather introduced herself and talked a little about her book. It is a dystopia YA novel, 1st in a trilogy. It has a very sci-fi feel to it. Then Heather read a section from the book, the portion that she read was of the main character Zoe's other "secret" that she has, aside from being able to have feelings. This makes this story even more interesting and you should all check it out!!

After that we got to eat some chocolate cake and strawberries and we all got to have our books signed. I was happy that Heather remembered me from Twitter and was so happy to help celebrate the launch of her amazing book!! Thanks for being my first author I got me meet Heather :)
