False Memory by Dan Krokos
(False Memory, #1)
Release Date: August 14, 2012
Publisher: Hyperion; 336 pages
Miranda wakes up alone on a park bench with no memory. In her panic, she releases a mysterious energy that incites pure terror in everyone around her. Except Peter, a boy who isn't at all surprised by Miranda's shocking ability.

Left with no choice but to trust this stranger, Miranda discovers she was trained to be a weapon and is part of an elite force of genetically-altered teens who possess flawless combat skills and powers strong enough to destroy a city. But adjusting to her old life isn't easy--especially with Noah, the boyfriend she can't remember loving. Then Miranda uncovers a dark truth that sets her team on the run. Suddenly her past doesn't seem to matter...when there may not be a future.

Wow. I had no idea what to expect with this book but let me tell you, if you buy this book you are certainly in for a ride! I'm not sure if I've ever read a book that is so action packed, it leaves you breathless. There was never a dull moment throughout this entire book for me, which is something every book strives for, right? Suspenseful and leaving the reading on the edge of their seat waiting for more. I even found myself skipping ahead to see what was going to happen. I hate doing that but I couldn't keep myself from doing it multiple times. A few times, I do believe I even made sound effects to how I was feeling - so glad I was alone or that would've been embarrassing, gasping in shock and all!

The world of cloning is new to me, especially when it comes to YA books (or books in general, I should say) so to read something like this had me slightly nervous. At times, I don't like to steer too far off from what I'm used to but you know what? I'm really loving all the Sci-Fi type of books I've read lately. I certainly may be adding more and more to my TBR list after so many good ones! The cover of False Memory is just amazing, absolutely amazing! If you were to judge a book by it's cover, I'm sure seeing this is a store would certainly grab your attention.

I would like to thank the author, Dan Krokos, for graciously signing an ARC copy at BEA and being a great guy. I'd also like to thank Hyperion for giving away these books (and giving us the opportunity to meet Dan) while at BEA. You'll be happy to hear that this book was #2 on my 'MUST HAVE' book list. (Followed by Prodigy by Marie Lu)

I'm so used to see love triangles that seeing this love...I'm not even sure what you would call this, but regardless, I enjoyed it. Sure, there was the main love triangle where two guys both love the heroine but you know what, I'm used to those and 95% of the time, they don't bother me. You add in another person who also loves one of the guys who loves the heroine and that's what I call damn interesting.

After having finished this book I am extremely curious to see where book two will take us. *highlight to view spoiler* Especially with the Sequel as part of their team and the fact that Olive is no longer with them, which makes me totally sad. I really liked her and I liked the idea of her and Noah (mainly because I want Peter and Miranda together like really bad! But Rhys is a great addition to the team but I'm just not sure how Miranda 2.0 is going to fit in to the equation. I am very interested to this unfold... *end spoiler* I can only hope it'll be as action packed as False Memory turned out to be.

I definitely recommend this book if you're in to Sci-Fi, intrigued with the idea of cloning and are just looking for something that is filled so much with action that you get exhausted just thinking about it!
