In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
Linger is the sequel to Shiver and the second book in the series. Quick note, I love how the book cover colors are the colors of the font in the book. First one was blue, now this is green, and Forever is red, love it.
I was anxious to read Linger, after how Shiver ended, and I was waiting to see what different twists this one would have. The ending of Shiver just made me cry and made me so happy, so I was very interested in seeing how long that happy feeling would last. In this book, you are constantly worried about Sam, but in a way that you want him to stay how he is, because of the love that him and Grace have. In Linger, there is one scene that stood out for me. That scene was when Sam and Grace went to the recording studio. Something about that scene was so real to me, and it completely put me into the story and into Sam and Grace's love. You could feel the words he was signing in the studio.
Cole is an interesting new character, and his transformation I still haven't quite figured out, but I am sure if I re-read the book, I'd figure it out. (I get carried away and read too fast sometimes, hehe) But he really intrigues me, and he is a great guy for Isabelle, she needs someone like Cole, if they can ever figure that out, lol. They are perfect for each other, in the way that neither take any crap from anyone, they are both very stubborn, and you can just feel the sexual tension between them. The ending to this book was very sad, and left me wanting more, I needed to know what happened/happens to these characters!
Forever is the third book to this series and I CANNOT wait to read it and find out what happens to all of these characters! Judging by the first two books, I will not be disappointed!
