Book Review: Freja by Saga Berg

Freja by Saga Berg
(Nordic Fairies, #2)
Release Date: March 9, 2012
Publisher: Saga Berg; 50 pages

Four months have passed since Svala met Viggo in New York, and she hasn’t heard from him since. When Viggo appears in a popular interview on TV, Svala and her friends gather in Svala’s and Trym’s living room to watch. Svala with the hope Viggo will give her a sign, and let her know how he is doing. He doesn’t. Instead, something happens during the interview that takes Svala completely off guard. On national television, she is reminded of a painful memory from their past.

In the second part of Nordic Fairies, the public display of Viggo and Svala’s most painful secret from their past forces Svala to remember her past. Driven by guilt, Viggo breaks the rules and tries to contact her, but his attempt leaves Svala with more questions than answers.

What is he up to? And what exactly is going on between Viggo and his co-star actress, Amanda Jones?

I knew that as soon as I finished Nordic Fairies #1, that I was going to want to read the second one right away. Especially with these stories being novellas, I just buzz right through them, and they just leave me wanting more!!

Thankfully, Freja was a little longer then the first story. Still, in my opinion, could have been expanded into a much longer book, but that didn't take away from my rating this time around. This second book is much sadder then the first one. Again, we see the struggles that Viggo and Svala must go through to be together, but this time, something much deeper happens, and they think that they have been rewarded for past wrong doings, only to have it pulled from their lives and they are told to forget about it and just let it go. I won't give in to what this thing is, because I want you to read the book. It is very sad and heart wrenching, and it pulls are you heart strings a little more because Viggo is this big strong man, and this event seems to just knock him off his feet and he is so fragile in this book. Shows what an amazing man this character is.

Viggo is up to something, trying to figure out what the Döckálfar is up to, but in this book, although it is talked about, it is over shadowed by Freja, and the meaning to that character in this book. I am curious to what Viggo will find out about the Döckálfar and what part Amanda Jones plays in this continuing story.

I was sad when this book ended because I wanted to read more, I want to know what happens. However the ending is really good and leaves you with a lot of questions to what can happen in the next book. Gives you many ideas on how this story can turn out. I for one cannot wait to see how it turns out!! Again, great series, please make sure you check it out!!
